In conjunction with representatives of the Rotary Club of Plymouth-Foothills, the City of Plymouth, and the County
Veterans Service Office (CVSO), representatives of the working committee that is overseeing the construction of a
Veterans Park in Plymouth will be making a progress report and presentation to the Amador County Board of
Supervisors at their regularly scheduled meeting on Tuesday, January 25th. The Veterans Park is located in
Plymouth near the entrance to the Amador County fairgrounds. This presentation and update regarding design and
construction of the park is being scheduled with the assistance of Amador County Supervisor Brian Oneto, in whose
District the Veterans Park will be located.
Following this presentation to the Board of Supervisors, it is expected that this Veterans Park Committee in subsequent
Board of Supervisor meetings will be requesting the approval of the Supervisors to relinquish the funds, approximately
$200,000.00, that have been set aside for District 5 Veterans' Memorial District. This money will be used to build a
memorial honoring all veterans that served in the military that currently live or have lived in District 5, build a
public restroom and, upgrade the current park infrastructure to include walkways, seating areas, shade trees, and picnic
tables.
At this presentation, there will be time for you to voice your opinion for or against the proposed expenditures.
Please let the Board know of your thoughts and ideas regarding the utilization of these funds and how best to honor our
service Veterans. Our goal is to make this Veterans Memorial Park a destination that can be enjoyed by all. Anyone
wishing to provide comments is encouraged to contact Supervisor Brian Oneto in a number of ways:
